Course Description:
Our updated Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course is based on simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active hands-on participation.
Realistic simulations will reinforce:
- Proficiency in Basic Life Support (BLS) care
- Recognizing and initiating early management of peri-arrest conditions
- Managing cardiac arrest
- Identifying and treating ischemic chest pain and acute coronary syndromes
- Recognizing other life-threatening clinical situations (such as stroke) and providing initial care
- ACLS algorithms
- Effective resuscitation team dynamics
RENEWAL COURSE PREREQUISITE: Complete the ACLS Pre-course Self-Assessment at https://elearning.heart.org/mycourse/launchcourse/24761767 You must bring the pre-course Self-Assessment completion certificate, along with a copy of your current ACLS card to class.
NOTE: Completing the additional “ACLS Pre-course Work” module is not required for attendance of the renewal course.

At the end of the course, students will participate in a megacode station to validate and test various skill sets. This new ACLS course improves the quality of care provided to the adult victim of cardiac arrest or cardiopulmonary emergencies.
