BLS (Basic Life Support) For Healthcare Provider is a credentialed course that is designed to meet the needs of Healthcare Professionals and is a pre-requisite for Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses. The course teaches students adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, choking procedures, use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED), and the use of barrier devices. For students who prefer to do the American Heart Association online renewal course and need skill verification, LSTI does offer this service by appointment only.

All students are required to show a current card to attend a re-newel course.
Participants will receive an American Heart Association textbook that includes information on Adult CPR, Pediatric CPR, choking procedures, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and barrier devices.
This course requires participants to complete practical skills and successfully pass a written examination at 84% or above, before a course completion card can be obtained. American Heart Association certification is valid for two years from the date issued.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in CPR and has developed instrucional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an education course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the association.
